Escape Limited Edition

While on the Manhattan Bridge I noticed someone had cut a hole in the fence at a look out area to stick their camera lens through (not me but I can’t blame them, the fence really ruins the beautiful view). I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with my clear view of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan so I tried a couple of different angles. Once I was looking through the hole, once my hand was through the hole as though I was presenting NYC to a viewer. None of my ideas were quite working and I was rapidly losing light. Then I realized a great photo could be my acting like I was parting the fence that was keeping me away from the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan. Thus this is how this shot came to be.
